NIELIT Kohima is constantly working towards nurturing and developing Information Technology ecosystem with appropriate citizen centric solutions to improve the life of people in Nagaland. The aim of this initiative is to invite innovative ideas from the youth of the State for challenging problems and provide them environment to build and come out with smart solutions. This would lead to developing entrepreneurship culture and make Nagaland a hub of innovation.

With the focus on establishing innovative “Made in Nagaland” products and services, Department of Industries and Commerce Govt. of Nagaland under the flagship program of Startup Nagaland, NIELIT Kohima is also one of the incubation centre.

Domain of interest: (IT including Software and Hardware based solutions)

  1. Information Technology.
  2. Electronics.
  3. Agriculture / Horticulture.
  4. Services.
  5. Healthcare.

Eligible Participants:

✔Open to all citizen residing in Nagaland / indigenous of Nagaland.
✔Participants can be individuals or group of maximum 5 members.

Process of Selection:

  1. All Interested applicants are invited to submit the applications online on or before 22nd August 2021 along with a brief note describing their innovative ideas.
  2. During the First phase of screening the participants has to present the innovative ideas via online meeting app (zoom) which will be screened by a panel of experts for selection and implementation.
  3. Top ten participants will be selected for the next phase.
  4. Selected ten participants will have to come up with a working model of the prototype. They will demonstrate the working of the prototype online, which will be further assessed by the panel of experts for shortlisting of the best Five. The working video of the prototype need to be submitted.
    a) The intellectual property of the innovative solution will be shared by the individual / group and NIELIT Kohima.
    b) The quality of video should be in 1080p.
  5. In the final phase the five participants will be invited to NIELIT Kohima to present, in detail, the working of their respective prototype to the panel of experts. Based on the performance the panel will select the best three prototypes, which can be taken up for further productization. The entire exercise will be shared live in the workshop which will be organised online simultaneously.
  6. Prize Money (Sponsored by Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Nagaland)
    a) 1st prize: 40,000
    b) 2nd prize: 25,000
    c) 3rd prize: 15,000
    d) Consolation Prize (2 no’s): 10,000 each
  7. E-Certificates will be issued to all the participants.
